Website Development Process
To take a website from simply an idea to a successful website requires a step by step process for timely completion. For this reason I have developed my web design process so that we can build your site as efficiently as possible.
1. Discovery / Create Site Mock-up.
Great sites start with careful assessment of your project goals. Typically I’ll do this through questionnaires, e-mails and online/phone meetings. Next I’ll use your vision along with the content you provide to do the necessary research analysis. This gives me the information I’ll need to perform the information architecture and create the site mock-up.
2. Site Construction.
Once you have given final approval to the site mock-up your site is then hand-crafted using modern Web Standards coding techniques. At this point I’ll be be building the beta version of your site on my testing server. From time to time during the construction phase I may need your input on specific website features, but in general you’ll be able to relax… you have B&Co to take care of all the geeky technical aspects of the project.
3. Perform Fine Tuning / Site Launches!
Once the beta site is fully constructed you’ll be able take it for a test drive before setting it loose on the web. At this time I’ll need your feedback to perform any needed fine tuning. Once everything is working to your satisfaction and you give me the go-ahead, I then perform the necessary steps to go live with your site. We have lift-off!
4. Site Updates and Management.
While you site has launched it still needs guidance! For optimum performance it’s important to monitor how your visitors are using your site. With this information your site can be further tweaked to allow your visitors to have the best experience possible. Since all my sites are built on a Content Management System you can easily update the content on your site… or, if you wish, call on B&Co to make the changes for you.
